Edge Play Agreement

A negotiated high-risk play agreement

This agreement sets out the terms of consensual edge play between the two adults named below. Both enter into it freely, of their own choice, and of sound mind. It is a communication tool, not a legally binding contract, and it does not remove anyone's right to stop at any time.

Edge play can cause serious injury or death

Activities like breath, blood, knife, and fire play carry real, irreversible risk. This document records consensual, risk-aware play between experienced adults — it does not make any activity safe and never supersedes the right to stop. There is no safe way to restrict breathing; if attempted at all, only with maximum caution, full knowledge of the risks, and never alone.

1. Scope & Risk Acknowledgment
  1. The parties list exactly which edge activities are in play, and each acknowledges in writing the specific, serious risks of those activities.
  2. Both are sober and unimpaired, and confirm they have the knowledge and equipment the activity demands.
  3. Never alone: a sober, capable person and a means to call for help are present; first-aid and the right safety gear (shears, water or fire blanket, sharps handling) are on hand.
2. Hard Safety Rules
  1. Breath play. Carries maximum risk and no safe version; if it is in scope at all, it is approached with extreme caution, constant monitoring, and never to the point of losing consciousness.
  2. Instant stop. The signal ends everything immediately; the Top is watching for it at all times.
  3. Medical plan. The parties agree in advance when to stop and call emergency services, and never delay help out of embarrassment.
  4. Aftercare & monitoring. The bottom is monitored after the scene for delayed effects, with care and reconnection.
3. Consent & Limits

Consent here is informed by a frank, written acknowledgment of the specific risks (see below), and is ongoing. The safe word, stop word, and an agreed non-verbal signal end the scene the instant they are used. Neither party takes part while impaired in any way.

4. Health & Safety
  1. Neither party will take part while impaired by alcohol or drugs to a degree that affects judgment or the ability to consent.
  2. Each party will share any relevant health information — injuries, conditions, triggers — that could affect safety.
  3. The safe word and stop word are honoured instantly. Using them is never punished and never held against the person who used them.
5. Duration & Revocation

This agreement is valid from and continues until either party revokes it.

Either party may revoke this agreement at any time, for any reason, by . Withdrawal of consent ends the dynamic immediately and is always respected.
